Yuba River Outing 12/16-17/2023
For our December Yuba River outing, we had 15 members including two women signed up. The fishing was slow this year. By my count, we only landed 6 trout and a steelhead with a few fish breaking off. There were very few salmon or redds in the river this year, probably an indication why the trout and steelhead were scarce. There was some bear scat and tracks around but we did not see any bears. The Yuba now has mud snails, so they continue to spread around the rivers in California. We had great camaraderie at dinners each night and Jeff had a birthday party one night even though it was not his birthday. We left late Sunday afternoon just before the rain hit.
