Summer 1976:
Club concept evolved from Norm Sutcliffe's sporting good store in downtown Santa Rosa.

11/8/1978:
Russian River Fly Fishers, Inc. designated by Franchise Tax Board as tax exempt and required to file form 199-N annually.

12/1981:
Proposal from Club to City of Santa Rosa to construct fly casting pond.
3/23/1982:
With support from SR Recreation and Parks, City Council appropriated a 3 acre parcel for the Pond with Club responsible for funding construction. It would be "built and dedicated to the City; and the organization (Club) would have first use when not use for City recreation purposes". 10/23/1982:
Club Fund Raising Kick-off. Goal to raise $50,000 by summer of 1983. Approx 125-150 club members.
11/22/1982:
Santa Rosa City Trust Fund 0880-2182 (Casting Pool Fund) formed for construction of Pond.
04/23/1983:
5/2/1983:
Responsible club member designated to direct disbursements.
5/18/1986:
Galvin Park Flyfishing Pond dedicated. Club had raised over $70,000 to construct the pond. Club agrees to maintain it.

Some pond land provided to Dog Park.
