*** Your chance to own a piece of RRFF history- don't miss out ***
Club Member Lee Soares' donation will be on the front raffle table for the February 8, 2023 general meeting:
An H.L. Leonard 9' 8 WT Golden Shadow graphite rod with an Orvis Battenkill 10/11 reel! This rod alone originally sold new for $700-800 in the mid-1970's.
The info on rod value came from Marc Aroner, the head rodmaker at Spinoza Rod Company in Massachusetts. Marc now makes and sells high-end bamboo rods ($1500-3500) after HL Leonard's 6 strip method, and worked for many years at HL Leonard Rod Co. He bought all of their tooling and equipment when they went out of business. He also sells used HL Leonard graphite rods and he knew right off what rod Lee has.
This is Lee's rod, and it was formerly owned by his long-time friend, an avid RRFF fisherman who is no longer with us.
Your chance to carry on this legacy with purchase of one or more $1 raffle tickets!
